The Largest Private Nature School in Texas

The Wild School is the largest private nature school in Texas, offering fully outdoor programs from infancy through adolescence. Every day, in real weather, on real land, with real tools, we help children grow strong, capable, and deeply connected to the world around them.

This is not an add-on to modern childhood.
This is a return to what childhood was always meant to be.

Reconnecting Children to Their True Nature

What Makes The Wild School Different?

We are a fully outdoor, year-round nature school offering programs from birth to adulthood. Our classes take place in the woods, the prairies, the parks, and the wild spaces of Houston.

Nature is the classroom

Children learn best through direct experience. Our students learn by building, exploring, problem-solving, observing, and doing real work in real environments. Knowledge sticks because it is lived, not memorized.

Fully Outdoor. Fully Committed.

No matter the weather, we’re outside—because resilience, adaptability, and a love for the outdoors are forged in the elements. Rain, shine, or mud—we show up, grow stronger, and embrace it all.

Whole-Child Development

We intentionally develop emotional regulation, communication, leadership, collaboration, and self-trust alongside physical strength and cognitive growth. This is development that aligns with how children are actually wired to grow.

Real Skills That Create Real Confidence

Fire building. Navigation. Shelter construction. Tool use. Risk assessment. Environmental awareness. These are not novelty activities. They are foundational human skills that build deep, lasting confidence.

Reimagine What Learning Can Look Like

At The Wild School, childhood is active, grounded, and alive.

All of our programs, from babies and toddlers to full-day forest kindergarten and teen workshops, take place entirely outdoors. Children move, build, explore, rest, and learn within a predictable rhythm that mirrors real life rather than artificial schedules.

We are not just getting kids outside.
We are helping them become capable humans who trust themselves.

Not Sure Which Program Is Right for You?
