The Wild School’s Spring Break Camp 2025

An Unforgettable Outdoor Adventure for Your Little Ones!

​The Wild School’s fully outdoor camp immerses kids in nature-based learning, survival skills, and adventure, fostering confidence, teamwork, and a deep connection with the natural world. Our experienced educators guide children through engaging activities using Coyote Mentoring & Flow Learning, helping them develop resilience, creativity, and problem-solving skills in a fun and safe environment.

Who Can Join?

  • Ages 3-6 (Must be potty trained)

  • Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve – 2400 W 11th St, Houston, TX 77008

  • Optional Wednesday Forest Immersion: George Mitchell Nature Preserve, The Woodlands

Full and Half Day Options

  • Half-Day Camp (Ages 3-6): 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM (Full-week registration or Choose Days)

  • Optional Early Drop-Off: 8:30 AM ($5 per day)​

This camp is perfect for children who love the outdoors, enjoy hands-on learning, and want to experience a week of adventure, creativity, and exploration.

What to Bring

  • Half-Day Campers (Ages 3-4): Large snack & water bottle.

  • Extra clothes, socks, and sturdy closed-toe shoes.

  • Rain boots for mud play.

  • Towel for drying off.

  • Weather-appropriate layers (camp runs rain or shine!).

Weather Policy

The Wild School operates rain or shine to ensure an authentic outdoor experience.

  • In case of severe weather, we will relocate to a nearby facility with both indoor and outdoor access.

  • Parents will be notified in advance if any changes are necessary.

Each day of camp offers exciting adventures that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Monday

Into the Wild: Awareness & Hazards

  • Learn outdoor safety, animal tracking, and sensory awareness.

  • Camouflage games and nature hide-and-seek.

  • Introduction to common hazards and how to navigate the wild safely.

Tuesday

Wildlife of Houston: Animal Tracking & Bug Hunting

  • Hands-on tracking and nature detective skills.

  • Bug hunting and insect identification.

  • Special guest wildlife educators with live animal presentations.

Wednesday-2 options

Shelter & Campfire Cooking: Forest Immersion

  • Option 1: Stay at Lorraine Cherry Preserve – Build survival shelters and learn fire safety and campfire cooking.

  • Option 2: Attend the Forest Immersion at George Mitchell Nature Preserve (The Woodlands) – A deeper wilderness experience featuring tracking, sensory awareness games, and forest exploration.

Thursday

Water Wanderers: Sensory Play & Nature Art

  • Water play, mud kitchen, and nature-based art projects.

  • Learn about water habitats and their role in the ecosystem.

Friday

The Ultimate Forest Quest: Teamwork & Adventure

  • Orienteering, nature scavenger hunt, and navigation skills.

  • Team-building games and outdoor challenges.

  • Campfire storytelling and closing circle.
